The date for my second solo assault on the C2C has been set.
I aim to leave St Bees at sunrise on Sunday 30 May. I’ve booked a fortnight off of work to allow for a few extra days at the end if I need them, but shall still aim to keep to the ten-day schedule I originally set. I’ll probably need the few extra days to recover at home afterwards, anyway.
It’s funny how the bug sets in. I am already itching to get back up there and am having to console myself by reading the forums and making early plans for the walk. The amazing £13.50 rail ticket I managed to book online in advance last time does not seem to exist any more. I guess there’s a chance that it could appear nearer the time, so I will leave the travel arrangements until nearer the trip. Meanwhile, I’m back scouring the coast to coast forums and dreaming of the wild fells.
Top of my practical to-do list is to find a pair of boots to replace the ones that disintegrated on the last trip, using some Christmas money.
