Having read several accounts of five-day crossings, I have now worked out a provisional timetable which has gone up on the right-hand side of the blog. I may fall a little short on day one, which would not concern me overly as it is the longest day even though the first section is physically the toughest because of the terrain.
I also snapped up a Vango Ultralite 100 sleeping bag today for £25 at Sports Direct that looks like it should be able to do the job. It's small and weighs 800g, which is 50g more than the Berghaus Flare 700 I was looking at, but only two-thirds of the price.
I've the Vango Ultralite 200 and used it on my Coast to Coast walk last September, very good for the price, I had paid, which was £25.
